christmas cheer

.......
hi there.

do ya hate me?
it's been so long.
i'm sawry.

in my defense,
i've been working my butt off at work
&
Dan has been dominating school like a bad ass. classic dan.

this last weekend
was THANKSGIVING!
so we had a 5 day break
to relax,
watch a star wars movie marathon,
watch home alone,
anddddddddddd
decorate for our favorite holiday...

CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

wanna see what my christmas house looks like?
i bet you do...

well just a second.

i want to show you a project i worked on

i took all this stuff (cinnamon, applesauce, glitter, ribbon, cookie cutters)
and make homemade ornaments.
they smell amazing!

i mixed 2 cups applesauce and 2 cups cinnamon together
then added a TON of glitter.. for some sparkle.

then i rolled it out, just like regular cookie dough

we then picked out our fave holiday shapes

i had preheated our oven to 170 degrees
and let the ornaments bake for 3 hours

(this will make your house smell fantastic)

while waiting for those to bake,
we decorated!

our banner we found at target

our tiny stockings

frosty

i made these!
2 canvases, painted, and used a paint sharpie

our pre-lit tree with some red beads
i love our tree topper

we listened to christmas pandora while decorating...
did you know if you put your phone in a glass cup or jar
it magnifies the sound like a speaker?

and this is what the ornaments looked like when they were done!

 Happy Holidays from the Petersons!

cheesy goodness

hey there,

so i did it

i cooked!

Again!

so last night, i made cheesy rice with broccoli
so good,
&
soo
easy!

here are the necessary ingredients:

1 cup orzo
1-1/2 cups chopped broccoli florets
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 Tablespoon butter
1/4-1/2 cup 2% milk
salt to taste

here's a link to the recipe:

pour rice into boiling water, let cook for 3 minutes

while you're waiting
chop up cheddar cheese and broccoli

(i used my magic bullet for that)

after 3 minutes,
pour broccoli in with rice
and let cook for 2 minutes

after 2 minutes,
drain mixture

once fully drained
pour mixture back into your pot

add both cheeses, butter, and milk

stir up!

and eat!!

you may enjoy it with a cold brew if you wish

night 2 of cooking was a SUCCESS,

hmm i wonder what night 3
will have in store....
